Rock For a Cause

Rock for a Cause is an award winning Charity Concert Series originally based out of Merrimack College.

Founded in 2003 at Merrimack College following the Station Nightclub fire that killed 100 people, RFAC is dedicated to putting on quality concerts that benefit local charities. We have raised thousands of dollars for the Station Nightclub Fire Relief Fund, VH1's Save the Music Foundation and The Jimmy Fund.

So Far, we have put on 4 shows, in April 2003, February 2005, December 2005 and Cinco De Mayo 2007.

The first show was an all out Rock-fest, featuring 2 stages side by side, stretching the full width of the Merrimack College Multi-Purpose Room. It was Non-Stop rock music for 5 hours... and we raised thousands of dollars for the Station Nightclub Fire Relief fund.

In early 2005 we kicked it up a notch and also down a notch. We invited back some of those same Rockers and brought in some new ones, took away their amplifiers and put acoustic guitars in their hands. Tossing them on the stage in the intimate setting of the 600 seat Roger's Center, we made a truly unique acoustic event inspired by the old MTV Unplugged. That show was an amazing success, raising several thousand for VH1 Save the Music.

Following the success of RFAC Unplugged, we went back to our original formula. Big Stage, Big Sound, Big Lights, and Awesome Bands. On December 3rd 2005, Rock for a Cause returned in all of its glory. With Hundreds of people in the room, Todd Martin, Pete Kilpatrick, Six Day Slide and Waltham played unforgettable sets. The show was again a complete success, meeting all goals and donating the proceeds to the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

After graduating from Merrimack, we decided to do it again. In 2007, we put on a show in Boston at Bills Bar. Booking some of Boston and New York's best bands and supporting the world famous Jimmy Fund, Violet Nine, Six Day Slide, Parkview, and NYC's Daphne rocked Bill's to the foundation. With a huge crowd and plenty of tequila flowing on Cinco De Mayo, it was a huge success.
